Need A Name
Brett Favre... ouch. Ouch man. I was bummed for about 15 minutes when the Vikings lost. Then I realized that February 17th pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training for the Cardinals. I can't wait!

A shot from the Action Scene of the webseries. I play Agent Cooper... and man am I in a pickle.
Football and some writing. Good, productive day today. This week is my last week being unemployed. I'm going to try and get as much done as possible.
The TO DO LIST this week:
1. Finish Webseries - PILOT
2. Work on Big Bang Theory Spec
3. Develop new ideas for an original pilot
4. Write a sketch for UCB's Not Too Shabby
5. Come up with a name for our webseries.
Right now the webseries is called "Are You Going to the Mall Today?" We're not sure that the name makes total sense. We'd like to come up with a new one that's funny, witty and catchy. Any ideas??????

We finished the shoot today. It was a little hectic... but all the episodes are in the can. Now to post-production to make this thing great!
Joey and I worked hard on creating this and with Sam's help we know it's going to rock. There is definitely some interest in the webseries and I hope it will lead to something positive. Specifically, representation... but, you never know. Maybe more... maybe nothing. I'm going to stay positive though.
Now that this project is in post I can focus myself on some new projects. My new blog of two-liner and monologue jokes definitely keeps me busy. I'd like to write a Big Bang Theory spec, as well as, work on a new original pilot. In addition, UCB has a night each week where people in the UCB community can work-out bits and sketches. I'm hoping to work on some pieces there that I can put up later.
With my new job starting February 1... I won't have AS much time as I've had since I moved here, however, I will still be able to focus a large amount of my time on writing.
I'm excited. Excited to work again. Excited to keep writing and excited to pursue writing as a career. And, with the risk of sounding extremely cliche - I'm gonna make 2010 my bitch!

Great Day!
I got a job. I got a JOB! I GOT A JOB! I'm soooooo happy! It's for a company called GetFugu. I'm a tinny-bit bummed that it's not within the industry as I hoped, however, I am happy that February 1 I will be employed at a real job. The company has a totally rad environment. Jeans and t-shirt type culture, Macs everywhere and a nice long lunch. There's not a lot of employees now which is great because I'll be getting in at ground level. I'll be doing sales, which I'm good at, so I'm pretty stoked!
In addition to the great job news, I got to spend an hour and a half with my friend, Hugh, Fink during lunch. We ate at a delicious Mexican restaurant. I'm actually still craving the chicken tacos... mmmm. Anyway, Hugh is an Emmy award winning writer who wrote for seven years at SNL, was the co-creator of The Show Biz Show With David Spade and head writer for The Late Show With Craig Ferguson, among others. I get to learn a ton every time I get to hang out with Hugh and I'm so appreciative for the time he spends with me. It's rare in life to have people who are so willing to help you out, especially in such a cut-throat, saturated industry. He's a truly a great guy. The past few months I've been working on a webseries I co-wrote with Joey Clarke, Jr. I'm quite thankful Hugh was kind enough to play the character of Edward Tulip when we shot this in December. He was great.
To cap off the day, I met with Joey and Sam Zvibelman (the director) tonight for a pre-shoot discussion and to go over our shoot Saturday. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get 100% done (thanks rain) during two weekends in December we planned to shoot the webseries. So, we have to shoot one episode on Saturday. Tonight we tweaked the script a bit, made sure we were prepared for Saturday and ran through everything. It all seems to be A-OK. Let's just hope this rain stops because our it's an EXTERIOR shoot. Please pray.
Wow... this might be my longest post ever... weird, but it was a BIG DAY! :@)

Improv!
Tonight was my first show with my new harold team at iO. Our team name is 1954. The show was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be, since I only met the people I was playing with about fifteen minutes before our show. Not counting Steven Yeun. Steven and I are good friends from Chicago and have done a bunch of shows together. We've already done a one-off show since we've both been in L.A. and we were lucky enough to be placed on the same team. We decided to take a couple pictures before our show.
Last night was super fun and I'm excited to be performing on a regular basis again. Improv really makes me happy. It makes me so happy that I wrote a song about my show, before the show. It's called "I have an improv show."
I have an improv show. I have an improv show. I have an improv show-ow-ow. I have an improv show.
I'm gonna be a robot. I'm gonna be a dog. I'm gonna be an Eng-lish-guy!! I have an improv show.
... Yeah, my song is pretty awesome.

Grey
The Grateful Dead sang, "Every silver lining has a touch of grey." A funny and interesting lyric. A way I believe it can be interpreted is: the plans we work toward in life, the goals we attempt to realize are not going to happen overnight. They take patience, practice and development. After awhile, you may find success. The thing is there might be some grey there or time passed from all the time you spent working toward your ambition.
I found out today I didn't get the job working on the movie, Bad Teacher, which I totally thought was a lock. I'm not sure why I wasn't hired, but I am sure it's part of my silver lining. Another thing I will have to endure... that will eventually make up my grey.
My very good friend, Erica Rosen, was in town tonight. We had yogurt... it was exceptional.
I have an improv show Wednesday at 10:30pm. It's the first one with my new team at iO and I'm looking forward to it!
